How large a marquee will I require?
This depends on how you wish to use your marquee. If standing room is all that is required then 6sq ft or 0.5 sqm per person is a legal minimum and should never be less than this.
You should deduct from this any place within the marquee which can not be used for standing i.e. any area with tables / chairs or a stage. A more comfortable rule of thumb is 10 sq ft per guest this gives people more room to move about.
Most clients though would prefer to sit guests, then 15sq ft per person, based upon 5ft circular table. If you use trestle table / 6ft circular you require more space.

Can I have open sides?
Yes – But use caution in windy conditions as this can cause problems. For more information see the Health & Safety page. Replace any sides as they were erected.

What types of lighting can you supply?
Chandeliers with dimmer together with canned up-lighters positioned at the base of walls
It is the clients reasonability to supply a safe and reliable mains electricity.
For larger events, a qualified electrician to provide a mains supply into the kitchen tent. Contact your Caterer / Entainment for their power requirements - VERY IMPORTANT.

What types of flooring are available?
Solid flooring that is ideal for hard standing.
Polythene sheet with carpet.
Solid flooring will not create level lawns as it follows the contours of the land – this requires suspended flooring or scaffolding
Solid flooring is ideal though there is an additional expense @ 45p sq ft net

How long is the marquee hire period?
Normaly we erect marquees on Tuesday-Wednesday or the Thursday before the event, and dismantle on the Sunday, Monday or Tuesady after, if you have specfic timescales that you require, please inform us, and we will try and schedule accordingly.

Can I make last minute changes to my hire?
Within reason, changes to items such as furniture, colours etc can normally be covered, we try to accommodate, but this often depends on availabilty.

Underground Services

All marquees are secured with 3ft - 4ft pins
and these will damage underground services. Please advise of any underground pipes and cables that may be affected by the marquee.
